Richy Virahsawmy came to Clonakilty 12 years ago and brought with him his culinary knowledge influenced by his Mauritian heritage. He has featured on cookery slots on RTÉ as well being personal chef to Michael Flatley (Riverdance).

Richy’s thrive on serving its guests with locally sourced produce and aim to meet all customers’ every need. All main courses are coeliac friendly as well as a variety of starters and delicious desserts. Richy’s also has a vegetarian menu and is family friendly with a children’s healthy option menu.

The attached R Café is open from 9am serving breakfast menu, home baked goods and great coffee. The lunch menu is available from 12 noon until 5pm daily.

It's not just about the food or the service separately but the whole package. The team at Richy's is dedicated to producing a dining experience where the guests feel relaxed and happy and receives fresh food prepared to a high standard. The á la carte menu offers a variety of dishes incorporating seafood, salads, small bites, steaks and desserts. Everything is made in house including bread, biscotti and salad dressings. All seafood is sourced from local fishermen. The menus change seasonally.

Being in West Cork means Richy’s is spoiled with artisan producers such as Ummera Smoked Products from whom it has smoked duck breast, Edward Twomey's famous Clonakilty black pudding, Devoy's Organic Farm vegetables and fruit and Dave Bushby's wonderful Rosscarbery strawberries to name but a few!

Richy's Bar and Bistro offers a warm and relaxing atmosphere where one can sip a glass of wine from the bar and chat with friends.
