In the Northern Headlands, the inshore reefs of Killybegs are perfect for a spot of pollock fishing where local angling experts offer deep sea angling, diving and wildlife spotting. Although a region with a rich fishing tradition, this particular corner of Donegal is regarded as having one of the premier fishing ports of Ireland. Inishmurray Island 

A day trip to the uninhabited Inishmurray Island is perfect for the casual angler, while it is also a wildlife sanctuary of national importance for both breeding and wintering birds. The waters of the Surf Coast are home to a huge variety of ocean life, including over 30 species of sport fish such as coalfish, flounder and skate. More experienced (or determined!) anglers can hunt a blue shark or a giant bluefin tuna. For those in search of peace and quiet while they fish, take a sea fishing trip to Bellmullet on the Bay Coast - a most tranquil experience. Both the inner coastline of Blacksod and Broadhaven Bay are highly recommended spots, with miles of accessible coastline to cast-off, try exploring to find your own perfect spot. Cliff Coast

Travelling the coastline of County Clare, anglers are spoilt for choice when it comes to scenic casting spots. For the casual angler, fishing off the coast is the perfect add-on to a trip to the Cliffs of Moher or The Burren, while more experienced anglers may take this opportunity to spend more time on the waters seeking out a blue shark. There are three major angling ports in this region; Ballyvaughan, Liscannor and Kilrush Marina. Down in the Southern Peninsulas, warmer waters ensure that diverse marine life thrives. Mackerel is a guaranteed catch in summer months, while this is also known as a wild salmon and sea trout hotspot.
