Rosses Point

The quiet seaside village of Rosses Point is set against the backdrop of beautiful Sligo Bay and the Dartry Mountain Range. Only a short drive from Sligo Town the village is popular with golfers who tee up at the County Sligo Golf Club.

Rosses Point is a former sea-faring village beautifully situated at the entrance to Sligo Bay. It is best known today for its spectacular blue flag beaches and as a great place for visitors with magnificent scenery and stunning accessible coastal and cliff walks.

The harbour is dominated by the 12 foot statue, ‘The Metal Man’ a link with the past and the present and something that is held very close to the heart of the community. He stands with right arm outstretched, pointing to the safe deep channel. Another nearby monument, ‘Waiting on Shore’, honours the memory of those who those who were lost of sea.

The village boasts one of Ireland’s best golf courses County Sligo Golf Club Rosses Point. And water enthusiasts can make waves at Sligo Yacht Club home to enthusiastic sailors of all ages.
