Galway Christmas Market

Nothing says winter quite like a Christmas Market and, as festive fever hits the City of the Tribes, the Galway Christmas Market returns - even bigger and better than before!

The market has expanded to become a city wide event and is set to be the largest festive event in Ireland. Eyre Square remains at the heart of festivities with visitors browsing the wooden chalets brimming with crafts, toys, jewellery, cosmetics, decorations and plenty of stocking fillers. For the foodies, tuck into a bratwurst, taste a tempting selection of French pastries, pretzels or confectionary, with the scent of crêpes and waffles wafting through the Christmas village. Sample a stein at the German Bierkeller or a warming cup of mulled wine and hot chocolate at the cosy bars and coffee docks, with festive music and live events adding to the yuletide spirit.

Explore a host of new events and attractions at this year's Galway Christmas Market, including vintage carousels and amusements, pantomimes and festive performances, Santa's grotto and pop-up shops at various locations through the city. The Santa Express will take you on a train tour discovering the sights of the city, while the festive cheers continue through the cobbled streets of Galway lined with busting shops, bars and restaurants. Presented by the Galway City Business Association (GCBA) and supported by Galway City Council, it has become Ireland's longest running Christmas Market and last year alone attracted over 600,000 visitors. For further announcements, competitions and festive news follow the event on Facebook or Twitter.
