The restaurant opened its doors in November 2014 and was awarded its first Michelin star just ten months later (becoming only the second restaurant in Galway to receive the prestigious award). Since then, the restaurant has gone on to achieve further success with head chef and owner, Enda McEvoy, being voted ‘Best Chef in Ireland’ and Loam being named ‘Best Restaurant in Connacht’ at the Restaurants Association of Ireland Awards in May 2016.

Enda and his team focus on modern ambitious cooking rooted in tradition. Seasonally driven, they work very closely with local farmers and producers, many of whom are close friends, to get the products they need to reflect and capture the feeling and magic of the west of Ireland.
