Cronin's Forge

Run by Carmel and her son Brian, a fourth generation blacksmith, Cronin’s Forge has many years experience in producing some of the finest wrought iron products in Ireland. Set on the Shores of Dunmanus Bay, just outside Durrus Village on the Sheep’s Head Peninsula, Cronin’s Forge sits comfortable in the landscape from where it takes it’s design inspiration.

With it’s vast range of gates, garden furniture, lamps, candleholders, occasional furniture, fire baskets and companion sets; Carmel and her team still employ age old techniques to their craft in producing impeccably designed and individually handcrafted products in both traditional and contemporary styles, suitable for any home or garden. As each piece is individually made, commissions can be made to your specific size or design and finished in one of the six colours available.

In 2014, to celebrate the launch of The Wild Atlantic Way, Cronin’s Forge has opened a Forge and Craft shop where you will find smaller pieces from their own range along side locally produced crafts, post and greeting cards- all are perfect for overseas travellers looking for a memento of the area or local s seeking a unique and special wedding or birthday gift.

Learning:

As Cronin’s Forge is still a small and personal family run business from Monday to Friday you will be able to see the team and meet the blacksmiths responsible for making your chosen piece.
