West Cork Farm Tours

These farmers work with the seasons and no two days are alike on the Wild Atlantic Way.

With a growing population that is becoming more and more disconnected from the land, these farmers want to show people where their food is coming from and how it is produced. Come learn what 21st Century farming in West Cork is really like.

The West Cork Farm Tours are 5 local family farms where the owners are only too delighted to welcome you, show you what their farm is about and explain the intricacies of farming whether it be Dairy, Beef or Pork. Each farm is more than a commodity, it’s a way of life.

West Cork Farm Tours are also partnered with three local hotels to offer additional refreshments and/or accommodation packages. These are the Celtic Ross Hotel (Rosscarbery), The Emmet Hotel (Clonakilty) and Fernhill House Hotel (Clonakilty).

All the farms are located in/near Clonakilty, Rosscarber and Skibbereen, Co. Cork. Each farm tour lasts approx. 1.5-2hrs in length.

The 5 Farmers:

Avril and Willie Allshire:

Michael and Marguerite Crowley:

Michael, Marguerite and their five children run a dairy farm near Skibbereen, and their high-quality milk has won them acclaim as West Cork Dairy Farmers of the year, Carbery Milk Quality Award Winners and winners at the NDC/Kerrgold National Milk Quality Awards.

Tommy Moyles:

Tommy is a beef farmer whose herd of Simmental cows graze just a few hundred metres from the Atlantic Ocean. His farm is located in Ardfield (coastal road between Clonakilty and Rosscarbery).

Denis O’Donovan:

Denis, Collette and Eoin O’Donovan farm land on the Wild Atlantic Way between Rosscarbery and Glandore where their Jersey cross Friesian herd produces milk of exceptional quality.

John Joe O’Sullivan:

The family have won Carbery Milk Quality awards and Origin Green Sustainability awards. John Joe also has a keen interest in bee keeping and dry-stone wall building.
