Sligo Yacht Club is located at Rosses Point on the edge of Sligo Bay in County Sligo. It is one of the most picturesque locations for inshore racing in Ireland.

Originally formed in 1821, Sligo Yacht Club is home to enthusiastic sailors of all ages. There is a strong junior and adult dinghy fleets, a competitive J24 class and sail training courses. Sligo Yacht Club has a long history of running many National and International regattas with a sheltered inner bay and arguably some of the most accessible sailing waters in the country.

Sligo Yacht Club has a healthy fleet of some 40 GP14s, 30 Mirrors, Laser Picos, Lasers and an ever increasing Cruiser Class. Racing for Cruisers take place on Wednesdays and Fridays. The GP14s race on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Sailing takes place five days a week from April to October with new members and visitors always welcome to come and experience sailing in the northwest of Ireland.

Sailing is a weather dependant sport and every effort will be made to make the best use of the prevailing and forecast conditions at the time of the sailing course. However, safety is paramount and sailing may be curtailed due to adverse weather conditions.
