Today’s stretch of road along the Surf Coast, from wonderful Belmullet to cheerful Ballina, invites you to lace up, layer on and head out for a generous dose of fresh wild Atlantic air. Immerse yourself in the diverse landscapes before making new friends in County Mayo’s buzzing towns and villages. There are ancient tales to take in and formidable formations - both built and natural - to feast your eyes on. However you choose to spend your day, you’ll find yourself inspired.

Day 3

Salty swells and sandy soles are the order of the day, as you experience a little piece of surfing paradise on Ireland’s western shores. From the chance to surf some of the most sought-after waves in the world to snapping the perfect sunset selfie, the three legs of Day Three will leave you hungry for more.

Day 4
1 Stops


Make time to stop and smell the roses today as you experience the Wild Atlantic Way on island time. You’ll spend the day exploring mysterious and beguiling Inishmurray, just seven kilometres off the Sligo coast, where the flora and fauna are as exotic as the local legends, and both have been preserved for future generations to enjoy.

Day 5

What better way to make the last day of your Surf Coast itinerary unforgettable than by throwing caution - and maybe a sail - to the wind and getting the adrenaline pumping on an open water adventure? Between Mullaghmore and Donegal Town, there will be plenty of opportunities to surf or kitesurf, and when you’ve worked up a hearty appetite, the award-winning eateries of Donegal invite you to unwind, fill up and share the stories you’ll be talking about for years to come.
