The main fishing areas along the River Eske are from Timony’s Turn to the Mill Pool just outside Donegal Town, around Miss Jenny’s Bridge in the middle section of the river and at the Eel Weir Turn just downstream of Lough Eske Bridge.

The river is noted for its spring salmon, sea trout and char and it is also a productive brown trout fishery. It has a run of spring salmon, a good run of grilse and late salmon. Sea trout angling is at its best from late July onwards.

The season runs from the 1st of March to the 30th of September and the best period is from the middle of July to the end of September.
