Located on the main street of the picturesque estate village of Dunfanaghy, overlooking Sheephaven Bay, McGilloway's Oyster Bar is an award winning pub with all the right credentials. Open turf fires, regular traditional music sessions with live bands at weekends and good fun throughout the year.

Dessie and Connie McGilloway arrived here in 1997 and have made their pub a lively centre for both village people and tourists. Fully air conditioned, the pub is open 7 days a week. If you are planning to stay in this wonderful corner of Donegal, Dessie has some attractive holiday cottages nearby, all with a 4-star rating from the Irish Tourist Board. In Dunfanaghy itself, a visit to the old workhouse is highly recommended.

Interactive exhibits relate the harrowing tale of how the great famine of 1845 affected the village and its inhabitants. And if you enjoy walking, there's a superb route from Dunvanaghy that leads to Horn Head, an imposing cliff some 600 feet high whose ledges swarm with countless guillemots and gulls, with a few puffins also resident.
