Atlantic Sea Kayaking

A trip with Atlantic Sea Kayaking, which operates out of Skibbereen in West Cork, is a chance to get up close and personal with nature.

Warmed by the Gulf Stream, West Cork’s coastline is dotted with deserted islands, ancient castles, sea caves, hidden coves and an abundance of marine life. Atlantic Sea Kayaking offers the visitor the opportunity to explore this landscape. Kayaking trips are available every day for people of all abilities. Or join them for a night trip in one of the many magical locations in West Cork.

Alternatively, why not join Atlantic Sea Kayaking on a kayak for their Cork City trip. It lasts for two hours, and during the tour you will slip under the bridges and see the city centre from a unique and unusual perspective.

Or bird lovers might enjoy the bird chorus experience. Choose from dawn chorus and evening chorus outings designed to suit beginners and families, all run on still water surrounded by woodlands.

Other possible trips include coastal tours, seaweed forging trips whale and dolphin watching or experiencing white water rapids. Corporate team building is also available and stag and hen parties can be catered for too.

All necessary equipment is provided, including kayaks, safety gear, wetuits if necessary, and splash suits to go over clothing to keep you dry and warm. Participants should however bring warm clothing, sun block, a change of clothes, and a towel.

Atlantic Sea Kayaking is approved by the Irish Canoe Union and is headed up by Jim Kennedy, a highly experienced paddler. He is a level 5 Irish Canoe Union sea kayak instructor/coach, a level 4 river kayak coach/instructor and Level 5 British Canoe Union sea kayaking coach.

Trips are suitable for those aged nine and over. Payment can be made by credit card, cash or cheque. Pre booking is required.

After your trip Atlantic Sea Kayaking can also arrange evening hospitality. Or you can explore local towns like Union Hall, Clonakilty and Skibbereen solo. There is a huge selection of restaurants and lively pubs to choose from.

And if by any chance you are more of a land lover than a water baby, Atlantic Sea Kayaking also provides coastal walks and allows visitors to experience local stories, artisan food and music nights.
