Burren Way Mountain Bike Tours offers one of a kind guided tours of the Burren’s hills, tracks and trails.

There are a variety of tours for a variety of skill levels, each one specifically mapped for the cyclist’s enjoyment. Beginning with their easy level, the Lord of the Rings Burren Tour takes in various areas that inspired JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, including Pol na Gollum (or Gollum’s Cave). This tour is suitable for a novice mountain biker, and takes generally 3-4 hours. This is one of the most popular tours.

The Puffins, Cliffs & Submarine Tour brings the cyclist from Doolin, travelling small roads up to the world famous Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre, with a stop off before following more small roads to Hag’s Head and into Liscannor - home of the submarine. This tour is suitable for a novice mountain biker, and takes generally 5-6 hours.

The most popular tour - Over the Hills - is for the intermediate mountain bikers, or a novice looking for adventure. Following a similar route to the Lord of the Rings Burren Tour, this tour shows off the impressive downhills and climbs in the Burren. Some great scenery thrown in, this is a tour not to be missed! This tour takes 4-6 hours.

For those looking for a full holiday of mountain biking, also on offer is the Galway Bay Explorer Tour - 6 days and 5 nights of excellent tracks and trails from the Burren right up to the Connemara and onto the Aran Islands. This tour also allows the cyclist a chance to experience local culture particularly with the traditional music sessions in Doolin and with Irish speaking locals on Inishmor.

All of the tours keep to small group sizes and are family friendly (most tours are suitable for children aged 12 and older with some experience). The company strive to give each cyclist the opportunity to stop and simply enjoy the scenery around them throughout the tour, and never rush anyone, each tour is run at a pace that suits everyone.

All of the tours are off road and off the beaten path, so why not get out there?
